School Tax Notice

This is to notify all tax payers whose property is located in the Port Chester-Rye Union Free School Distric, Blind Brook-Union Free School District or the Rye Neck-Union Free School District that the second half of the school tax is due by January 31, 2019. Payments must be postmarked by the US Post Office no later than January 31, 2018.

Please be advised that after January 31, there is a mandatory 10% penalty by New York State Town Law, which cannot be waived for any reason.

For your convenience, there are three ways to pay:

  1. Mail Check - You may use the envelop provided.  Be sure to include the second half portion. If you would like a receipt, please mark the appropriate box on the stub.
  2. Pay in Person - Visit the Tax Office at 222 Grace Church Street, Port Chester, 3rd Floor during regular business hours. Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm. Please bring the entire bill with you.
  3. Pay Online - You may pay using your credit card. *Be advised that there is a fee. You may also use electric transfer (ACH).

It is the responsibility of the Receiver of Taxes to levy and collect town and county taxes, village taxes, school taxes and all assessments levied or assessed in the Town. The Town of Rye tax office serves the Villages of Port Chester, Rye Brook and the Rye Neck Section of the Village of Mamaroneck as well as the Port Chester, Blind Brook and Rye Neck School Districts. 

The Town of Rye Tax Office levies, collects and guarantees the levies for County and Town taxes,  the Village taxes for the Villages of Port Chester and Rye Brook and the three School Districts. The Town of Rye guarantees these levies whether or not the taxes have been paid.
