Renovation continues on the new Crawford Park Community Center which, when completed, will offer a variety of uses and host an endless number of events. To better plan for this exciting future, The Town of Rye would like get more information about how the new CPCC would best serve the community.
To get a better understanding of how the members of the community use Crawford Park and how they might use it in the future The Town of Rye is asking residents to take a short online survey. Participants will answer questions about recreational programming, cultural events and other possible uses of the space that will help shape the future of the new Crawford Park Community Center.
The survey should only take 4-5 minutes to complete, and be assured that all the answers will be kept in the strictest of confidentiality.
The Mansion at Crawford Park will be closed for renovation during 2018. Please be advised that portions of the grounds may have construction materials and safety fencing. Crawford Park's grounds and its newly renovated pavilion, playground, and sensory garden will remain open. Visitors are welcome!
THE CRAWFORD FAMILY
The Crawford Family dedicated itself to beautifying its estate with gardens, lawns, and woods. Although many of the mature trees still exist, at the time the property was donated to the Town of Rye in 1971 many of the original plantings and gardens were gone and other features were in disrepair.
Crawford Park covers more than 35 acres between North Ridge Street and Lincoln Avenue in Rye Brook. The site includes gardens, lawns, woods, a walking/jogging path, playing fields, an historic mansion - making it a unique resource for Port Chester, Rye Brook and surrounding communities.
FRIENDS OF CRAWFORD PARK
Friends of Crawford Park was formed in 1997. The all- volunteer, non-profit organization, was created to preserve the Crawfords’ legacy. The Friends’ focus is on restoring and enhancing this unique and beautiful space for the enjoyment of all visitors.
