A State of Emergency was declared in the Town of Rye located in the County of Westchester, State of New York, effective March 16th, 2020 due to the present and future impact of COVID-19 (a.k.a. “Coronavirus”). The Town-wide State of Emergency was extended by proclamation until May 21, 2020, unless extended by a subsequent order of the Supervisor.
This situation threatens the public safety to wit:
On January 30, 2020, the World Health Organization designated the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, outbreak as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern; and
On January 31, 2020, the United States Department of Health and Human Services declared a public health emergency for the entire United States to aid the nation's healthcare community in responding to COVID-19; and
On March 7, 2020 and March 16th, 2020, the Governor of the State of New York and the County Executive of Westchester County respectively issued Declarations of Emergencies.
Both travel-related cases and community contact transmission of COVID-19 have been documented in the Rye Town area and more cases are expected.
As the Supervisor of the Town of Rye, I, Gary Zuckerman, I hereby exercise my authority under Section 24 of the New York State Executive Law to preserve the public safety and direct all departments, agencies and personnel of the Town of Rye to take steps necessary to protect life and property, public infrastructure, and provide such emergency assistance deemed necessary and vital to the security, well being, and health of our citizens.
In furtherance thereof, since social distancing has not been adequately maintained, effective on May 10, 2020 and until further notice, all people visiting Crawford Park and Rye Town Park over the age of 2, are required to wear a mask or face covering when present in these parks. Such covering shall completely enclose the mouth and nose.

This State of Emergency has been declared due to the present and future impact of COVID-19 (a.k.a. “Coronavirus”).
This situation threatens the public safety to wit:
On January 30, 2020, the World Health Organization designated the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, outbreak as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern; and
On January 31, 2020, United States Health and Human Services Secretary Alex M. Azar II declared a public health emergency for the entire United States to aid the nation's healthcare community in responding to COVID-19; and
Both travel-related cases and community contact transmission of COVID-19 have been documented in New York State and more are expected to continue.
New York State is addressing the threat that COVID-19 poses to the health and welfare of its residents and visitors.
On March 7, 2020, Governor Cuomo issued an Executive Order declaring a State of Emergency for New York State.
On March 16th,2020 Westchester County Executive declared a State of Emergency in Westchester County.
This Town-wide State of Emergency shall be in effect for an additional 30 days from the date hereof.
As the Town Supervisor of the Town of Rye, I, Gary Zuckerman, exercise the authority given me under Section 24 of the New York State Executive Law, to preserve the public safety and hereby render all required and available assistance vital to the security, well being, and health of the citizens of this Town.

Dear Residents of The Town of Rye,
We are all aware of the new Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.
Please pay attention to local media and to go to Westchester County and/or the CDC for guidance or resources. Please be aware of safety precautions you should take to prevent the spread of sickness.

How is COVID-19 spread?
Many of the initial patients with COVID-19 in China had links to a large seafood and live animal market, suggesting animal-to-person spread. However, cases being reported at this time have been occurring through person-to-person spread. The virus is thought to spread mainly:

What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
