Westchester County has announced a rare open house with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regarding Westchester County Airport to be held from 6-8 PM on January 22nd. Open to all Town of Rye residents, the event will be held at the New Castle Community Center on 10 Senter Street in Chappaqua. This is a unique opportunity for Rye Town residents to show the FAA and County how much we care about the future of airport operations.
The open house will include participation from HMMH, an environmental and transportation planning consultant who has just completed a new airport noise study. According to the County, it will not be a public hearing with presentation, instead residents will be able to meet one-on-one with a variety of experts from the FAA, HMMH, and the County Airport. Open dialogue will allow residents to share views and become more informed. A large attendance may well influence how much attention our airport concerns receive going forward.
County Executive George Latimer requested the FAA open house with the support of US Senator Charles Schumer, US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and US Congresswoman Nita Lowey.
