Sustainability Committee Internship

The Town of Rye’s Sustainability Committee is seeking an intern interested in environmental conservation and local government. This internship will provide invaluable administrative and professional experience.

The committee’s intern will learn how to “staff” a governmental committee. This will include attending monthly meetings and performing a range of tasks that contribute to the smooth and productive functioning of the committee in carrying out its mission.

The main tasks include working with the Town’s Chief-of-Staff to learn how to draft meeting agendas, sending meeting and event reminders, taking notes during the meeting and writing up the minutes.

Other tasks include helping to plan the committee’s community activities, assisting during those events and working to further environmental sustainability in the Town of Rye.

The Town of Rye Sustainability Committee meets on a monthly basis, usually on the 4th Wednesday of the month from 7:00 – 8:00 PM at the Town’s offices in 222 Grace Church Street in Port Chester.

This is an unpaid internship that could continue throughout the calendar year and could continue for multiple years. Community Service credit is available.
