The Friends of Rye Town Park has a close cooperative working relationship with the Rye Town Park Commission. This public/private partnership has been successful in overseeing many improvements to the Park over the years.
All lamp posts have been relit and many new benches have been installed. Hundreds of new tree, shrubs and perennials have been planted, in addition to over 100,000 flowering bulbs.
Each summer, the Friends hosts a series of free concerts in the Park. The most ambitious and successful project has been the restoration of the Duck Pond to its original size and beauty with a combination of private donations and public funding. |
