Majority Leader Rogowsky Secures Funding For The Drew Street Housing Complex In Port Chester
Program Will Authorize More Than $135,000 for the Village of Port Chester

(Port Chester, NY) ~ Westchester County Legislator Martin Rogowsky (D, WP-Harrison) is pleased to announce that the Village of Port Chester has received a $135,000 community development block grant (CDBG) from the federal government for the Drew Street Housing Complex.  The grant, administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, is a flexible program that provides communities with resources to address a wide range of unique community development needs.  The grant will be used for removal and replacement of the roof at the Drew Street Housing Complex.

Port Chester Housing Authority, which manages the site,  provides low/moderate families with affordable housing.  The roof removal/replacement project at the Drew Street Housing Complex will prevent further deterioration of this building, allowing the residents to live in a safe environment.

“I’m glad that I was able to assist obtaining this grant, as this project will improve the quality of life for its residents,” said Rogowsky.   The annual CDBG funding plan is now in its thirty-fourth year and is a joint partnership involving the federal government, the County and the local villages, towns and city governments.
